O Anaheim
03:28
|
|||
Crosstown traffic
Flying down the coast of dreams
Some of us had different names from Nevada to New Orleans
Ch.:
San Francisco was quite a trip
We went from high to low, we almost died but we loved it
We lost our Bag Man but we gained a Fence,
And it’s true what they say about Chinatown heavies
Now some of us have photos on the post office wall
I guess I mean some more of us than there were before
Suffice it to say there’s no such thing as
An easy score
We had a drop to make
We were hopping from state to state
We’d cut our losses and licked our wounds and
Learned from our mistakes
Things didn’t quite go as planned
But we got what we wanted and decamped
Can’t un-ring a bell but you sure as hell can
Bury your treasure in the sand
And now it’s my high time
O Anaheim!
Let the years roll by
Just watching the sun set, then watching it rise
Ain’t trying to preach
But I ain’t going out like Uncle Pete
Lived his whole by the highway, never made it to the beach
Ch.:

Everything You Ever Read
01:46
|
|||
don’t be good, don’t be bad (no)
don’t be sane, don’t be mad
don’t be new, don’t be old (oh no)
don’t be bought, don’t be sold
don’t be hot, don’t be cold (oh oh)
don’t be shy, don’t be bold
Ch:
Lay it out
Got to forget
Everything
You ever read
Future’s now
You better you bet
Don’t be wrong, don’t be right (no)
Don’t be day, don’t be night
Don’t be up, don’t be down (oh no)
Don’t be lost, don’t be found
Don’t be in, don’t be out (oh oh)
Don’t be faith, don’t be doubt
Ch:
Lay it out
Got to forget
Everything
You ever read
Future’s now
You better you bet
-Break-
Don’t be here, don’t be gone (no)
Don’t be Paul, don’t be John
Don’t be bound, don’t be free (oh no)
Don’t be denied, don’t be redeemed
Don’t be you, don’t be me (oh oh)
Closer you look, less you see

Why Would She Love Me
05:48
|
|||
Some things
You can’t see them
Like a question in the air
Lights a certain spark
How did we get this far?
Where are we going to?
What difference does it make?
How is this possible?
Is this going to hurt now?
Did she even care?
Did you feel that?
Is it better over there?
Some times
We stop thinking
Just to feel our way
Right back out of the dark
…
It’s not like
I’m some kind of superman (can’t fly)
Believe me,
I ain’t got no master plan (though I tried!)
Ain’t no Romeo,
I know
Can’t even
get us backstage after the show
I ain’t no superman
No Romeo, I know
…
Why would she do that?
It doesn’t make no sense
I must have jammed up her radar
Climbed over the fence
(No I) Ain’ t never asked her before
I don’t want to open that door
Don’t want to rock that boat
That boat don’t need to be rocking
It’s my lucky day
Defies all rhyme and reason
Just can’t see what she sees
That things should be so amorous!

I Can't Win

I Can’t Win
Everyday
Law of averages
Says no way
Modern times
Wears me thin
(but) Better than
They used to been
“Mushroom cloud
Smoking gun”
Wasn’t really
Too much fun
What comes next
Who can know?
Hold on everybody
Here we go
V1:
You’ve read about it, heard about it
Now it’s time to have your say
I would give a dollar for
Some 10-cent lovin’ any day
(some) Times I think about
The last guitar song that I ever play
Ch 2:
Modern times
Wears me thin
(but) Better than
They used to been
What comes next
Who can know?
Hold on everybody
Here we go
V2:
The Pogues are blasting in the basement
Gentlemen Soldier, Jess James
(ain’t) Trying to incite no riot
A rose by any other name
Forget about the Troglodytes
Their hair and shoes look all the same
>Bridge<
Ch. 3:
I Can’t Win
Everyday
Law of averages
Says no way
What comes next
Who can know?
Hold on everybody
Here we go
V3:
I don’t wanna sound like Elvis
I know I can’t sing the blues
I been out her so long
Think I’m paying some one else’s dues
And just when you can’t take no more
It’s bing bong llama llama ding dong mau mau
-end-

Beautiful Day
03:51
|
|||
The sky looked like a painting
We could swim across the Ocean
Waterfalls in Hawaiian Islands
It’s the Best Party, everybody’s having Fun
Nobody had to say “I’m sorry”
Mr. Bluebird coming my way
Bridge:
This is such a beautiful,
Beautiful day (today)
Travel interstellar low ways
There was no nuclear bomb, now
And the train was free
